- I’m interested in working with you for full-service interior design, but first, can you please explain why there’s an initial design consulting fee?
-
Of course! During our initial meeting, we’re not just chit-chatting and small-talking. We’re walking through your home, discussing your preferences, and coming up with strategies to improve the interior design of your space. Because I want every minute spent with me to be valuable to you, I use this initial consultation as a time to offer real, actionable advice, which is why I charge a consulting fee.
After this meeting, you have two options: you can either opt to move forward and continue our collaboration, or you can opt to implement the design advice discussed in that initial meeting yourself.
- What is your design style?
-
My own personal style is always evolving, and I would be happy in any number of different design styles. My current home is a contemporary ranch and my emphasis in this home has been on bringing the outdoors in. I identified “Woodland” as my overall theme and I am working with a nature-inspired pallete.
In terms of styling your space, though—we’ll work together to create your own personal style and add elements of personality throughout, while taking a timeless design strategy into consideration.
- I really want the help of an interior designer, but my project is small—I just want to tackle one or two rooms. Is that something you do?
-
Absolutely! I happily work on single-room projects; there’s a lot we can upgrade in a room! We’ll start with the function and layout. Then we can consider the mood you want to create. That can be done with rugs, furniture, lighting and lamps, window treatments, accessories, art, decor….you name it. We can figure it out!
When you fill out the above form and book your consultation, you can indicate that all you’re looking for is one room.
- Do you offer styling services in addition to interior design?
-
Yes and no. If I’m working with you on an interior design project, we can absolutely add decor selection and styling to our to-do list. However, I do not currently offer styling as a standalone service.
- How do you know which paint colors will work best in my space?
-
I’ll take you through a series of questions to help you find the best colors for exterior or interior walls, ceilings, trim, windows and doors, considering things like your inspiration and style, as well as the function of the space. I bring large painted boards and color samples to help you understand my recommendations and get a sense of how the colors will look in your environment.
- My partner and I don’t agree on what we want. Can you help us?
-
I would love to! I have plenty of experience working with couples, partners, families, and friends who don’t necessarily share the same design aesthetic. I’ll inspire agreement and bring a cohesive sense of style to your space while taking everyone’s point of view into consideration.
- I can get free design services from my paint store or furniture supplier. Why should I pay to hire you?
-
Because I provide a well-educated and experienced professional perspective, and am well-versed in what elevates a space. I consider all aspects of your project, and act as an independent voice that can help you find the best supplier to meet your needs, design any room, space, or home, and select the perfect furnishings and decor that fits your personal style.
- What kinds of spaces do you design?
-
You’ve got a space—I’ll help you design it. One room or one hundred rooms, new homes, old homes, apartments, condos, second homes, vacation homes, additions and renovation projects… The list goes on and on. Reach out using the form above to schedule an initial meeting so we can chat about your project!
- Do you sell window treatments?
-
Yes! Window coverings are a very important component in your redecoration project. They are highly functional, controlling the level of light and can provide energy savings year round. Shades, blinds, shutters, valances, roman shades and drapery can also add color and pattern, helping to complete the look.
